Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews I have had recently go to the bottom of the page and click on the link. I will be interviewing an author or editor every month, so look out for announcements of who will be featured here. This month I interviewed talented author Silvia Violet.

Kyla: Welcome, Silvia. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Silvia: My latest release is Sword of Longing, the second book in my Faery Treasures series which began with Cup of Revelation. In this book, Riordan, a coolly controlled faery spy, must help Lorna, a lush half-human woman, keep the faery sword from the king's enemies. Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Silvia: I'm currently finishing up Submission on the Run, another BDSM futuristic set in the same world as Surrender in the Dark. In this book, Ivan, a Lalatian dominant, is sent as an ambassador to the Boetians to pave the way for better relations between these two ancient races. The fiery, independent Princess Alcina catches Ivan's attention immediately. He soon realizes that under her bravado, she hides a need to surrender, and he is more than willing to teach her the beauty of submission.

Kyla: You write for three publishers at present, how do you choose which story fits best with a publisher?

Silvia: Loose Id was my first publisher so I have both novels and novellas with them. But now that I write for Changeling too, I submit novellas and short stories to Changeling and short novels to Loose Id. Samhain releases all the longer novels they contract in print, so I've chosen to submit longer novels to them.

Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write erotic romance. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Silvia: I started writing seriously in 2000, and erotic romance was just beginning to be popular then. I tried writing mainstream romance at first, but I kept writing stories that were too hot for mainstream. My characters just couldn't tone it down. LOL! So as more opportunities opened up for erotic romance, I stopped trying to box myself in and started writing the hot stories that I wanted to write. Now I'm really glad I did.

As far as trying something different, I love to read fun, sassy chic lit like Sophie Kinsella and Marian Keyes. I would love to be able to write an erotic story in that type of voice one day.

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Silvia: My favourite authors are Angela Knight, Morgan Hawke, Sophie Kinsella, and Lois McMaster Bujold. I can't gush enough about Morgan Hawke's Victorious Star. If you haven't read it, then you absolutely must. Sophie Kinsella writes British chic lit. I read Can You Keep A Secret? while I was at the beach a few weeks ago and fell in love with the hero. I highly recommend it!
