Interview with Kyla Logan

KR: Kyla, welcome back to TRS BLUE. Your latest book is Catari Heat 2: Double the Pleasure. What can you tell us about it?

KL: Thank you for having me back, Katie. =) CH2: Double the Pleasure takes up the story from where CH1: New Beginnings left off. They are complete stories which can be read on their own, but it would enhance the reader's pleasure to have first read New Beginnings before reading Double the Pleasure.

It is the story of Ashley who was injured in the crash that brought her and Leah (New Beginnings) to Catari. She wakes up from her coma to face the two men she has been dreaming of for months. They are Jarod the Alpha and Jeran the Shaman of the Jageri pack of Catari.

KR: The Catari Heat series is really fascinating. How many more books can we look forward to in this series?

KL: Thank you. =) In this particular story line I only plan the one additional book. Mate Fever, will include the stories of Jilla, the Jageri Seer and Garrick, the Alpha of the Lioni pack, who was introduced at the end of Double the Pleasure.

KR: Can you give us a sneak peek on the next story in the series? ;)

KL: Mate Fever will begin with the Skylian people on a rescue mission to find both Ashley and Leah. The mates of Jilla and Garrick are on the space craft so the usual method of protection that normally happens when mates arrive on Catari can't be used this time. So needless to say Darius, Jarod and Jeran are not happy kitties. lol But they know that they have to give the same support to Garrick that they have had in claiming their mates. The blurb for Mate Fever, can be found on my website.

KR: What are you working on now?

KL: At the moment I am working on a story that is going to be part of a series with Changeling Press in February. It is a change for me not to be writing about my kitties, but I am looking forward to writing about different shifters. My story is about a Mermaid and a Selkie, the blurb for Sea of Love, can be found on my website.

KR: What do you enjoy about writing?

KL: I am so new to all this Katie. I have had plot idea's and running scenarios in my mind for years, but it wasn't till 18 months ago that I started to try to get my idea's down on paper (computer).

I really enjoy reading what my readers think about my books, and I would love to hear from anyone who would like to comment on my stories.

KR: What does your writing space look like?

KL: When I got my laptop I asked my hubby to make me a customised desk to sit it on. It shares our bedroom, so is compact with a flat table surface and a shelf up above for my printer and light to sit on.

When my hubby is night shift, I have to work downstairs. With having the laptop I either use my lap-tray or put up a little folding table that is the right height to sit at and work.

KR: Your publisher is Changeling Press. What can you tell us about them and why do write for them?

KL: I am extremely happy to write for Changeling Press. Margaret the owner has always been supportive of my writing. Maryam my editor, has been nothing but encouraging… even when she has to correct a lot of punctuation errors. lol

I think I chose to submit to them when my story was finished because it fitted in with their requirements exactly. It was the right length and genre, and to my absolute amazement they contracted it the same day! =) After I write these two books I might try my hand at a longer work, but at the present I enjoy the short novellas that Changeling produce.

KR: If you could be marooned on a deserted planet with one of your characters, who would it be and what would you do?

KL: Oh that is a truly hard question! Well Jarod and Jeran come as a pair, so I think it would have to be Darius, although Taine from Sea of Love would come close.

I would just laze around all day enjoying the sunshine as I know that Darius is so protective that he would make sure we had things to eat. Yes, I would be very lazy during the day. But at night? Look out for fun happenings. lol

KR: What does your family think of your writing?

KL: My husband has been really, really supportive. He has exhausted himself helping me to explore some of my scenes.

Seriously, my family has been great. Hubby has read my writing and said he enjoyed it very much. So much that he told his friends from work, who wanted key-rings and fridge magnets for themselves. I didn't mind that, but they want new ones now that Double has been released! Maybe I should start charging! lol

KR: How will you spend the holidays next year?

KL: At the moment hubby has said he would like to go back to Greece, middle of May. So we are talking about it together trying to see if we can fit it in with work. We both love going over there for our holidays as there is so much to see. From temples to other archaeological ruins, and the people are so friendly.

It would be somewhere completely different this time, maybe a couple of the Cyclades island chain. But starting off with a couple of nights in Athens, so we can have another trip to the Acropolis, and hopefully see the Parthenon without scaffolding!

Thanks for having me Katie, I have really enjoyed our chat.

KR: Thank you!

Kyla
