Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews I have had recently go to the bottom of the page and click on the link. I will be interviewing an author or editor every month, so look out for announcements of who will be featured here. This month I interviewed talented author Marie Treanor.

Kyla: Welcome, Marie. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your February release?

Marie: Thanks, Kyla, the pleasure is mine!

My February release is called Old Town Magic. I suppose you could call it a futuristic romance. Its set in Scotland, some thirty years after a virus decimated the population. Edinburgh's historic Old Town has become the prison of those at highest risk of illness, but my heroine, one of the ruling elite, discovers there a vibrant young society striving to take control of its own destiny. She also finds love with a sexy street magician who is more than he first appears...

Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write erotic romance. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Marie: I sort of fell into erotic romance by accident! I began writing straight historical novels (under a different name) that were very heavy on time and research. When my last baby was born, I had even less time than before, and a few people suggested I try my hand at novella length romances. I began reading around these genres, which were all new to me, and I was instantly hooked! Inspired, I wrote Ghost Unlaid, which I suppose verges on the erotic, and then (with encouragement!) the rather hotter Queen's Gambit. Now, it sort of flows naturally!

But yes, I'm always interested in trying something new. One thing I've learned from the romance genres is not to limit myself. So far, I've followed my imagination and it seems to work, so when I get the next urge for something new, I'll let you know!

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Marie: I've got some editing jobs on, but I'm itching to start on a sequel to Old Town Magic...

Kyla: You have written in different sub-genres. What is your favourite to write in and why? Who are your favourite characters?

Marie: Yikes! I don't know which is my favourite genre! Which ever I'm writing in at the time! The same goes for characters. I fall in love with all my heroes. Since I've just been working on Old Town Magic, my favourite character of the moment has to be my Magician. But I have a soft spot for some of his friends too =)

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Marie: Favourite authors? Apart from yourself? =) Too many to mention! My favourite author of all time is probably Dorothy Dunnett... Among erotic romances, I'm still finding new favourites all the time!
