Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews that I have had recently or previous author interview that I did for the site, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.

I will be interviewing an author or editor here every month, this month I interviewed talented author Sultry Summers.

Kyla: Welcome, Sultry. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Sultry: My last release was Soul Twin with Venus Press part of their Signs of the Zodiac series. I chose to have my "twins" since I had the Gemini sign, be soul twins and knew each other before they were born. Born on separate planets, one male the other female they were destined to bring their Warring worlds together. First they had over come the obstacles in their way. My heroine was taken from her real parents when she was but days old and her parents, the real rulers of her world, exiled on a distant planetoid. She was raised to believe she would rule alone and spent most of her life at "school" with her aid, or lady in waiting who, knowing the truth protected her.

Her Soul Twin, as their time of marriage neared was forced to save her from an assassin sent by her "parents" as they had no intention of allowing her to rule. Of course they fall in love after a rocky beginning. Her fake parents, failing in their murder plan, attempt to force her to marry their son, who she believes is her younger brother, but she finds is actually a cousin. Her Soul Twin, quite a warrior and a hunk saves her, she does some of her own saving as well and they rescue her parents achieving peace.

Released at the same time and possible better known and more popular is Planet of Veils a light BD/SM piece where my heroine is sent to a world where both male and females are taught to pleasure their lords. Belayla, my heroine doesn't take well to being trained in such a fashion and a battle of wills ensues between Belayla and her trainer, Mistress Donestra who doesn't succeed in training Belayla but only in angering Prince Norquar, Belayla's lord and husband. Donestra damages Belayla in several ways, not permanently but it presents Prince Norquar with some touchy problems to overcome in convincing Belayla he does love her. In all the piece has received wonderful reviews for its heat level and the interaction of the sub-characters as well.

At the same time Midnight Showcase brought out Star TyGer in the anthology Jaded Beasts Vol. 2. That is a 25K word story in the style of Flash Gordon of course it is an erotica In this one we have as the villain Myng the Cruel and my heroine is Sapphire, a Chinese Astronomer who has inherited some amazing powers, along with her unusual sapphire blue eyes. Her Prince TyGer, who is battling the evil Myng teams up with her, together they fall in love while combining their powers for an interesting and very sexy way of rid the universe of the evil Myng. Along the way Myng and his concubine have some extremely hot escapades themselves.

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Sultry: As Sultry I have several pieces going, Troy's Children - Reborn, a time travel - reincarnation story. Lack of Oxygen - A Navy Pilot who finds herself on a rather strange Aegean Island. And Casino - Star Shine, An intergalactic gambling establishment.

Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write erotic romance. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Sultry: I enjoy erotica mainly because it doesn't stop at the bedroom door, it tells it all or depending on the heat level, a more arousing part of it. What would I try different? I want to do a historical, and not a historical that goes really far back one only back 50 to 60 years. I have it working in fact however it will probably come out as Sheila not Sultry. I don't think it will be an erotica. There is a certain event in that time period I want to focus on.

Kyla: You also write more traditional romance, would you like to tell us about these books?

Sultry: Sure, as Sheila I write the more traditional, as I mentioned in the last question. I have to admit, at time I have to reign in myself in with the erotic end though. Atlantis Vortex is a good example I almost went over the line in a few places and actually Venus Press listed it as an erotica when they sent it for a review with Romantic Times when actually it isn't.

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Sultry: OH goody ! I love Kayelle Allen. That woman's imagination should be gold plated. I truly love Isabella Jordan the same with her imagination. Different styles but that's great. I also just recently have read Cheyenne McCray, I received a free copy of Forbidden Magic from the RT convention and loved it.

Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.

Sultry: My books are available at Venus Press' web site www.venuspress.com with the exception of the story I have in the second volume of Jaded Beasts at that is with Midnight Showcase www.Midnightshowcase.com.

My website address is - www.sqpens.com.
