Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews I have had recently go to the bottom of the page and click on the link. I will be interviewing an author or editor every month, so look out for announcements of who will be featured here. This month I interviewed talented author Lacey Savage.

Kyla: Welcome, Lacey.. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Lacey: Thanks so much for having me, Kyla. :) My latest book is entitled In His Dreams, and its part of Changeling's Halloween Bash line-up.

Have you ever wondered where nightmares come from? What if they're not the result of a stressful day at work or that scary movie you watched before going to bed? What if they're actually the result of paranormal beings invading your mind… and what if they're not only terrifying, but also deadly? That's the basic premise of In His Dreams. Rafe, the hero of the story, is a Dream Walker. He's trained to find and kill Dream Ragers, the beings who pose such a danger to humanity. But when he ends up falling for one of them, his job gets a whole lot tougher…

Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write erotic romance. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Lacey: I've always been very comfortable with my sexuality. I firmly believe sex between two people is one of the most wonderful events in the entire world. I've been a fan of romance novels since I was young, but as I grew older, my frustration at being shut out of the bedroom every time the hero and heroine had a sexual encounter only grew. So I thought, why not write a romance novel I'd want to read?

I currently write in a variety of genres, but there are a few things I haven't yet attempted, but I'd like to. Writing an erotic chick-lit novel (complete with the first-person quirky point of view) is high on my list. So is writing a purely erotic mystery.

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Lacey: I've just about finished the sequel to my erotic time-travel novel set in ancient Egypt, I, Nefertiti. The second book is entitled Shifting Sands, and it involves redeeming the villain from the previous book. I can honestly say I'm very anxious about reader response to this book. I fell in love with the hero while writing it. I only hope readers will, too!

Kyla: You also write for other publishers, how do you tell which book and genre, will fit that particular one?

Lacey: I usually write a book for a particular publisher, rather than writing the book first and then trying to fit it to a publisher's needs. For example, since Changeling only publishes novellas, I keep my works for them short and super-sexy. For Amber Quill, I stick to soft, sensual romances with explicit scenes. And for Loose Id, the sky's the limit. :) I prefer to write longer novels for them, usually 50-60,000 words and up, but as far as genre and heat level, anything goes.

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Lacey: I'm afraid we'd be here all night if I started talking about my favourite books and authors. I'll try to keep it short, though. In print, I really enjoy Nora Roberts, Dean Koontz, Guy Gavriel Kay, Connie Willis, Tad Williams, Michele Hauf, Kimberly Cates, Alice Borchard… and many, many more.

As far as book recommendations, I wholeheartedly recommend any erotic romance by Aubrey Ross, Renee George, Marteeka Karland, Shelby Morgen, Saskia Walker, Treva Harte, Sage Grayson, Adrianna Dane and Morgan Hawke. You can't go wrong with any of their super-spicy books.

Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.

Lacey: For information on my current and upcoming releases, I recommend joining my newsletter. It comes out twice a month like clockwork (so you'll never have to worry about your in-box being spammed), and you'll find plenty of articles, eye candy, book recommendations, excerpts, author interviews and giveaways to keep you entertained.
