Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews that I have had recently or previous author interview that I did for the site, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.
I will be interviewing an author or editor here every month, this month I interviewed author Linda Mooney.
Kyla: Welcome, Linda. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?
Linda: Hi! And thank you for having me! I currently have 2 works in progress. One is a sci-fi fantasy romance and the other is my first true erotic story, which I'm playing with a deft hand (trying to go a bit tongue-in-cheek with it). There's only one book on my database I don't have finished yet. It's a paranormal suspense romance that I KNOW where I want to go with it, but I can't seem to find the set of stairs leading me there! LOL!
I spent years writing and not doing anything with my stuff until recently. I currently have a few more unpublished novels out there seeking a home, and I'm waiting to hear back from other publishers soon (I hope!)
School is out for me in two weeks, and I plan to do some major writing during my summer down time.
Kyla: I was fascinated by the excerpts from your forthcoming series. Where did the inspiration for this series come from?
Linda: Would you believe while sitting at a convention? I was listening to two people arguing about shape-shifters. One said that meant werewolves, and the other said not necessarily. Since I adore sci fi and fantasy (and tend to write exclusively for those genres) I decided to write about a shape-shifting alien changing into human form. Before I'd finished book 1, I knew it was going to become a trilogy.
Kyla: Is there anything different that you would like to try in your writing?
Linda: Umm, not at the moment. Although I want to stay in the romance genre, I just had a book of horror stories accepted by Mardi Gras Pub. I've had people ask me to write children's stories and I politely tell them "nope, no thanks". I teach Kindergarten, and the last thing I want to do when I get home is write books for that age group. LOL!
Kyla: Would you like to tell us about your Author Alcove over at The Romance Galleria?
Linda: Wow, over there I feel like a high school freshman in a crowd of collegiate graduates! I'm honored to be able to have the space. Currently I have up my latest book, AEQUANA. But there are also links to my website, my MySpace where you can see my videos of my books, a link to where people can join my newsletter, and a way to email me.
Personally I think the Galleria is a place whose time has come. With all the role-playing video games out there, it was about time someone thought of doing a 3-D chat room!
Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?
Linda: Oh, geeze. You would ask me that! LOL! I used to read romance years ago. You know, the bodice rippers. But I got burned out on them; they all seemed to be the same thing. And sci-fi romances were so few and far between. I developed a sweet tooth for horror. Especially Jack Ketcham. Recently a friend re-introduced me to romance via ebooks, and I've fallen for Lora Leigh's BREED series, Annie Windsor's ARDA series, and Lisa Marie Rice's MIDNIGHT series.
Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.
Linda: At my website www.lindamooney.com you can read excerpts from my books I currently have out or have contracted to be out. There's also a link to join my newsletter where I keep everyone informed about upcoming books, plus sneak peeks, reviews, contests, and more!
The Battle Lord's Lady is available from Amazon.com. As is Aequana. Or you can order autographed copies from me.
