Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews I have had recently go to the bottom of the page and click on the link. I will be interviewing an author or editor every month, so look out for announcements of who will be featured here. This month I interviewed talented author Marteeka Karland.

Kyla: Welcome, Marteeka. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Marteeka: Born On the 4th of July is out now. It's one of the Changeling Firecrackers, I'm proud to say. Here's the blurb.

Jake and Laura are exact opposites. They drive each other crazy! In the five years they've worked together, neither of them has admitted the strong attraction. All that is about to change.

This July 4th promises to have more fireworks than just the ones at the county fair. Jake and Laura will make a few of their own and maybe they can find a love Born On The Fourth Of July.

Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write erotic romance. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Marteeka: The emotion. There's so much emotion in erotic romance! For me, that's what makes a story. I mean, you have to have great characters, but to make the characters work IN the story, is their emotional connection to each other.

I thought about trying mainstream romance, but it just didn't work for me and I can't imagine writing a genre WITHOUT romance. I guess I'll stick with erotic romance and try to spice it up with sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal… It's ALL good!

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Marteeka: ABSOLUTELY! The first in the Elemental series should be ready for release soon called God of Fire. It's about gods, goddesses and volcanoes. This series will look at, not only God of Fire, but God of Earth, Goddess of Water and Goddess of Air. Not necessarily in that order. The elements go awry and the gods have to fix it. The sex is explosive, and the characters too sexy.

Kyla: You hold a very successful event each week on your loop, can you tell us more about it please?

Marteeka: OMG!!! Heavens, yes! I have a contest on my loop every week that features a selected Changeling author. The winner of the contest gets a free download of the promoted book. I've had terrific response with this and entries grow every week. I'm really proud to have such wonderful members on my loop.

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Marteeka: Sahara Kelly. Although she has MANY MANY books I absolutely love, I think that Alana's Magic Lamp, from Ellora's Cave, is my favorite. I also think ANYTHING by Kate Douglas is a recommended read.
