Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews that I have had recently or previous author interview that I did for the site, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.

I will be interviewing an author or editor here every month. This month I interviewed author Kara Griffin.

Kyla: Welcome, Kara. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Kara: My latest release took place in April, 2007 with a book entitled Fishing Lures & Love Tackle and is a contemporary/paranormal. I wanted to write a short story featuring a goddess, but not a Roman or Greek goddess, but something different. I found such wonderful information on Kuku-lau a Polynesian Goddess who was the Goddess of Deception. Her story just hit me and it's truly a sweet romance.

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Kara: I am working on a historical paranormal, the first book in the Shallcross Sister's Saga-Insight of Love. There is so much to these stories that it would take me hours to reveal all the elements. Here's a brief <g>

These book features the lives of the Shallcross sisters who each have special talents. Some might call them thieves and witches, but their legend is well-known. Each sister is cursed and can only break it when they meet the token-the man wearing the moon. In an enchanted forest where the leaves, trees, rocks, and elements aid them, they search for the man who will set them free.

Let's just say that readers of my Pith Trilogy series won't be disappointed with the Shallcross sisters and their men.

Kyla: Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Kara: I'm always trying something different, which is why I write in various genres. When I tire of writing a certain kind of story, I jump to a different world. I recently wrote a book, an erotic sci-fi which I think was too "out of the box" for publishers. So writing something different sometimes doesn't work. And yes, lol, I will be reworking that book to make it fit better in a publishing house.

Kyla: You write for a couple of publishers, tell us how you decide which story to submit to which one.

Kara: Right now I'm shopping for a publisher for my historical/paranormals. I'd love to keep all the books in that genre at one publisher so readers who love that kind of story will know where to find them. I hope to find another publisher for my futuristics. The nice thing about working with various publishers is all the wonderful people you meet, like Mae and Jewel at Midnight Showcase, who publish my short erotic contemporaries.

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Kara: I've been a reader for well over 2 decades. Gosh, that's a long time. I am one of those readers who find an author and stick with them. I'd have to say my favourite authors are Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey, and Catherine Coulter. I also love Beatrice Small and Rosemary Rogers. I adore historicals, so I'd recommend any of the authors above. My favourite book is Ransom by Julie Garwood, which I have read a number of times. The poor book has seen better days.

Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.

Kara: My books are available at Aspen Mountain Press and Midnight Showcase right now, but hopefully soon, I'll have more publishers and books out there for readers.
