Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews that I have had recently or previous author interview that I did for the site, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.
I will be interviewing an author or editor here every month, this month I interviewed talented author Donna Grant.
Kyla: Welcome, Donna. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?
Donna: Thank you, Kyla. I appreciate you asking me for the interview. : My latest release, A Dark Guardian, is the start of a new series called The Shields. It's about a group of men from different times and realms brought together by the Fae to battle mythological creatures. A few of the books are time travels and venture to other realms, but they are still Historical/Dark Fantasy romance.
Kyla: Can you tell us about your popular Druid's Glen series?
Donna: The Druid's Glen series is about three Druid sisters who are part of an ancient prophecy and are given special powers by the Fae to help fulfil the prophecy. There will also be two additional books in the series. The series lets readers get a glimpse into the world of the Druids and the Fae.
Glenna, the youngest and heroine of the first book, wants only to find the purpose of her life. She has no idea she's been taken from her family and raised by a monster…until she meets Conall. She has no idea she has set in motion events that will change the course of history. (Highland Mist)
Fiona is the middle sister with power over water. She likes to depend only on herself, so when Gregor arrives to take her safely to the Druid's Glen, she wonders if she can afford the price since it means giving up both her freedom and her heart. (Highland Nights)
Moira was raised as a Druid and knows her role in the prophecy is one of high importance. Why else would she be sent to find the key to enter the Fae realm? But when secrets she's long kept buried threatened to ruin all she turns to the one man who has always been there for her - Dartayous. (Highland Dawn)
Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?
Donna: Right now I'm working on two series. The first is a new series that just came out in September, The Shields. It's another five book series and four are written. I hope to finish the fifth by the end of the year. I'm also working on my novella series, The Royal Chronicles. The first in this series debuts in New Concepts Publishing's 10 year anniversary novella, Phoenix Rising II.
Kyla: Tell us what drew you to write romance books set in Scotland. Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?
Donna: I must have lived in Scotland in another life, because the land and its magic and mystery has always fascinated me. I love everything about Scotland. :)
As a writer, I'm always looking to try something different. I recently wrote a time travel. I was petrified that I wouldn't be able to write the contemporary part of it, despite the fact I live it. :) But, to my amazement, I found it very different and fun.
Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?
Donna: Oh, my. I have so many favourite authors. Hmmm. Let's start with Johanna Lindsey. My goodness the woman is simply a goddess! I also adore Julie Garwood's historicals, and then there is Karen Marie Moning and her to-die-for Highlanders. Oh, can't forget my very good friend Sherrilyn Kenyon/Kinley MacGregor. I could go on and on, but I better stop now. :)
Kyla: Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.
Donna: My books can be purchased through my publisher - www.newconceptspublishing.com - as well as www.FictionWise.com. My print books can be ordered through Amazon.com or purchased at any bookstore.
Thank you to Donna for her interview answers. Look out for an interview with author Kelly Ethan on 13th November.
Watch this space for further announcements of who will be interviewed next.
