Welcome to the Interviews page, to read interviews that I have had recently or previous author interview that I did for the site, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link.

I will be interviewing an author or editor here every month, this month I interviewed talented author Celine Chatillon.

Kyla: Welcome, Celine. Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by me. =) Can you tell us about your latest release?

Celine: Well, my latest, latest release is the fifth installment in the Brandi Whyne and Her Incredibly Erotic Adventures series, The Search for Brandi's Crack. It's a "science fiction/comedy erotic romance", and it's as naughty as it sounds… Brandi gets up to all "end" of trouble, you could say! You can read an excerpt from it on my Brandi Whyne page at http://www.celinechatillon.com/brandi.html =)

Right before Christmas, my second Mojocastle Press release, Santa's Big Little Helper,/b> came out. If you enjoy a holiday fantasy (with a hunky "Santa's helper" and some fuzzy handcuffs) give it a try. You can read an excerpt at http://www.celinechatillon.com/santashelper.html

Kyla: Would you like to tell us what you are working on just now?

Celine: I wish I could. I was a bad little girl over the holidays… There were just too many interruptions and distractions-and chocolate, we mustn't forget the chocolate! =) But I've made my New Year's Resolution to finish up my novel work-in-progress, Loving Who, before the end of January so I can start in on a couple of novellas and a couple of stories I've promised to various publishers this spring. Wish me luck! (You can actually read the first scene of Loving Who online on my "Christmas card page" at http://www.cynthianna.com/christmas.html I figured if I shared a little of the story with my readers then I would have to make myself finish it eventually. I've had a couple of comments about when I was going to post more of it, so it's pretty good motivation to write.)

Kyla: You also write more traditional romance, would you like to tell us about these books?

Celine: They're not all quite "traditional" (unless you like traditionally steamy sex scenes in your contemporary romances), but they are a bit calmer than my erotic-romance titles. I lean more toward "second chance at love" heroines and romantic-comedy, hence my newest tag line "When you least expect it, love happens." Let me give you the quick blurb on each of them, I write under the name Cynthianna Appel =)

Seven Ways to Seduce a Martian (actually this is more a "chick lit" romance with a twenty-something hero/heroine)

What's a "token male" to do? Brent Davison, lone "Martian" drowning in a sea of "Venusians", finds himself stuffed with homemade goodies, herbal cures and attempts to sign him up to play a sport he despises… The only sane person in the all female office is his sexy cube neighbor, Jodi Baker.

Jodi has had enough of men. Left at the altar, there's no way she'll take her co-workers up on their wild bet to see who can seduce the mysterious Brent first. Let the others go for it-she'll take no notice of him. Strangely enough, it's Jodi's leaving Brent alone that turns him on the most...

Scrambled Eggs

Sharlene has fallen for the father of her unborn child--and she doesn't even know it's him! Scrambled Eggs knocks the classic "secret baby" storyline on its head. Sharlene always wanted a baby, but her husband only wants a child to secure his position in his wealthy uncle's will. A mix-up at the fertility clinic reveals his hypocrisy, prompting a pregnant Sharlene to strike out on her own.

Single Sharlene "runs into" Zack Richmond and falls for him. Will Zack love a child that isn't his? And will Zack find the courage to tell Sharlene that he's the real father of her child before she goes into labor?

Beautiful Dreamer

Can a sexy, sleepwalking librarian corral a commitment-shy sheriff during the mayhem of rodeo week? Discover the answer in this romantic comedy of errors. When Marianne the Librarian sleepwalks into the brawny arms of handsome Sheriff Cody Greene, sparks fly and an erotic night of pleasure ensues.

A confirmed bachelor, Cody realizes Marianne isn't really the "love 'em and leave 'em" type of woman he's used to entertaining in bed, and he's worried. But by the end of the week--and after surviving a series of livestock-related calls and some "sleepless" nights--Cody is able to conquer his twin fears of cattle and commitment.

Country Boy, City Girl

Ronnie Hawthorn has found peace at last in the Missouri Ozarks town of Green Springs, excited at the prospect of running her own arts-and-crafts store in an old farmhouse. But when city girl Ronnie "falls" into her handsome neighbor's arms, she is surprised to discover that country boy Dave Darden is one of the most eligible bachelors in America. An earthquake, rumbling deep inside a cavern, brings the two together--but will Dave's meddling in Ronnie's business activities only drive them apart?

The Fixer-Uppers (to be re-released this spring)

Can a single mom find happiness on a blind date--or at least dinner with a male who can cut up his own food? Cassie and Mike believe they're "in like" not "in love." When down-on-his-luck Mike is evicted, Cassie takes him in. Mike starts fixing everything from window screens to broken hearts. Will Cassie let him fix hers?

Kyla: Would you like to try something different with your writing? If you would, what would that be?

Celine: At this point I'm open to suggestions. I just don't know whether to hang up the erotic-romance side for a while and give it a rest and try something more "mainstream" in order to attract an agent (and a wider audience) or stick with writing things I enjoy reading myself like straight science fiction and fantasy… Tough call. Feedback welcomed! =)

Kyla: Tell us who your favourite authors are, do you have any recommendations about books we just have to read?

Celine: I always "plead the fifth" on the "favorite author" question. Or I give only dead authors' names like Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein, and H.G. Wells. I hate to leave any of my living writing friends off my list and hurt their feelings.

Having said that, I have to admit I enjoyed reading Werewolf Christmas by Kyla Logan recently. =)

Kyla: Now you have me blushing, Celine! ;) Please tell us where we can purchase your fabulous books and where we can find out all about your latest news.

Celine: Fabulous books? Thanks! Can I hire you as my publicist? =)

The best way to keep up with my latest news is to sign up to my Celine's Dreams e-newsletter at Yahoo Groups. (Also my monthly Cindy Appel Newsletter is a good way to find out about ALL my book releases and ask me questions about writing/publishing/whatever.)

The sign up links are on my web sites: http://www.celinechatillon.com and http://www.cynthianna.com or you can go directly to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/celinesdreams or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cindyappelnewsletter. (Hint: Newsletter members are always on my short list when I draw for contest prizes, too.)

I also have started a MySpace page and welcome any and all readers/writers/creative types to befriend me there, too. Add me at http://myspace.com/celinechatillon

I try to keep my web sites and blogs (yes, I have a few of those, too) updated to the best of my ability. Purchase links and excerpt pages are all available by clicking through links on the front page. Acting as my own web mistress, I have to say it's a tough job pleasing the boss. She's such a dang perfectionist! =)

Thanks for the fun interview questions. =)

Thank you to Celine for her interview answers. Look out for an interview with author Cat Marsters on 14th March.

Watch this space for further announcements of who will be interviewed next.
